little blue penguin Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Anyone had experience of, or know anything about, this range of speakers? http://www.puresound.co.nz/
Daddy Dom Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 Absolutely nothing, but the website has lots of interesting reads. DD
T110 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 I was looking at this model on TM a while back. http://www.puresound.co.nz/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=29 The drivers are Jaycar (Response) unit's(or were when I enquired). I decided against pursuing them further as I felt there wouldn't be enough resale interest in them if and when I decided to sell them on. There's nothing to suggest they dont perform well though:)
Ernie1553552694 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 The cabinets look very solidly built. Marine ply apparently.

Ernie1553552694 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 No Hooser, it means that more than likely the cabinets are incredibly rigid and heavy. Good attributes for a speaker. Wood, even marine grade ply shouldn't deaden the sound either.
serioushifi1553552742 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 What are those jaycar drivers like?
Ernie1553552694 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 You should offer an upgrade service Mr Serious!
serioushifi1553552742 Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 Ha yea well i actually went into Jaycar to look at those but didn't get any for testing.

Shane Hanify Posted November 15, 2010 Posted November 15, 2010 The re-sponse drivers are good for what they are, but don't expect them to clobber decent speakers. They're perfectly fine in a budget > midrange budget setup. Cheers, Shane.
