davyboy9 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Which one do you recommend the standard red book or the re-mastered CD?

Guest Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Avoid the commonly available Australian CD pressing.

davyboy9 Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 Thanks guys, I'll see what Marbecks get for me. One was only $10 and the remastered would be an import, full price no doubt. I have 'The Well' and if that isn't the best produced CD out there I don't know what is. I thought I'd try a sample of the FBR on iTunes but it's not there for some reason.
Cooksferry Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 Check with Amazon US, even with freight you'd land a new copy of the 20th anniversary set from a good 3rd party seller like Import Cds for around NZ$24.
Guest Posted November 13, 2010 Posted November 13, 2010 IMHO FBR is the only Warnes really worth owning... As per the Ed, avoid the Aussie CD, the best sounding that I've heard is a toss-up between the original US Cypress and Canadian Cypress, then the 20th Anniversary. No comment on any unheard European variants. The 20th Anniversary is still in print, the others are also usually available from various online sellers. Amazon has samples; http://www.amazon.com/Famous-Blue-Raincoat-20th-Anniversary/dp/B000OPO6WY/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1289619578&sr=1-1
davyboy9 Posted November 13, 2010 Author Posted November 13, 2010 Just bought the 20th anniversary edition from Canada CAD$18 with free delivery. There was a special gold edition that caught my eye but was around the US$50 plus delivery as it was very very rare. Also a SACD version. Some far eastern sellers wanted up to US$140 even used. What did we do before the internet eh.
