I will decide! Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 lino infused with lead used as sound proofing or isolation of vibration...... So i had to cut a piece out to go under my records on the TTa I am sure that the Hi's are not so bright threw my horns and base tighter....sadly the horns are still to hi.... Would this be generally what one would expect by doing this mod ?
guitardude Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Did you adjust the VTA to compensate for the extra thickness ?

Pretty much what I would expect... heavy mass & ultra low resonant freq material (soggy) like lead would absorb low level energy (HFs). LFs would tend to sound weighter due to this tonal rebalancing. The upside is that platter reflection would be reduced... but this can be achieved with other mat material, without the downsides of lead.
