I gone and sold my soul to the tube god Tim de Paravicini and bought one of his EAR 890 power angels, so my Perreaux 350 power amp will be surplus to requirements shortly.

Ex condition, silver face, 5 yrs old, bought new and built to order with custom "red power bulb" (rather than the std blue), from a child free & smoke free home, (only used to play hymns on Sundays - NOT), fed clean power all its life, never skipped a beat, all orig packaging inclu dble boxes and wooden pallet for the 35kg load. Built like a tank, sings like bird. Amazing power, grip and punch with 350wrm into 8 Ω, 600Wrms into 4Ω, balanced and single ended inputs. Class A/B.

Full details at http://www.perreaux.com/products/prisma/350_-_stereo_power_amplifier/

Retail around $8.5k ? Offers around $4000?

Sorry no 24 month interest free – go to H N for that.

I would suggest trying it. And I would suggest that maybe the 350P on its own may give a more dynamic sound than your 6160 in its tri amp configuration, as then your able to deliver all the power to where it is needed, not being limited to 1/3rd the total amplification available. It may, or may not, improve your dynamics. But if your able to slip it in as a "if I like it I will sell my 6160" sly one, then do it!.

Have you tried bridging your 6160 to 425w? I had mine bridged for a while, higher noise floor and less 'refinement', but enough power to blow your doors off :D

Not as good as the 350p, but would give you some idea of what a huge power increase does for your speakers (as I understand it, your current triamp arrangement doesn't give you 3x 160w in power).

Give it a crack, might be fun :)

Caveat: Perreaux recommend bridging for speakers with nominal impedence no less that 8 ohms.

Cheers, B :)
