michaelw Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Avoid local purchases if you're allergic to Australian CD's. Unlike the separate Remastered albums these compilations are Made In Australia.
aarond1553552714 Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Does that make them even worse than just being Beatles CD's?
Guest Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Blasphemer ! Into the Bose/Marc Vincent room with you !
Guest Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The Red and Blue CDs are disappointing in their track selection, particularly considering the missed opportunity to enlarge the track listing since the 1987 CDs came out. The Red is particularly annoying, as the contents of the two CDs could easily fit on one disc. Here's my enlarged version of Red, at 1.7 hours: Love Me Do [single Version] Please Please Me I Saw Her Standing There Twist And Shout From Me To You She Loves You All My Loving I Want To Hold Your Hand This Boy Can't Buy Me Love Long Tall Sally Matchbox A Hard Day's Night I Should Have Known Better And I Love Her Things We Said Today I Feel Fine She's A Woman No Reply I'll Follow The Sun Eight Days A Week Ticket To Ride I'm Down Help! You've Got To Hide Your Love Away Act Naturally Yesterday Day Tripper We Can Work It Out Drive My Car Norwegian Wood Nowhere Man Michelle In My Life Paperback Writer Rain Eleanor Rigby Yellow Submarine Taxman Here, There And Everywhere She Said She Said Got To Get You Into My Life Tomorrow Never Knows All in glorious mono from the 2009 mono remasters.
Guest Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 And my enlarged Blue: Strawberry Fields Forever Penny Lane Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band With A Little Help From My Friends Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds She's Leaving Home Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise) A Day In The Life All You Need Is Love Baby You're A Rich Man Hello Goodbye I Am The Walrus Magical Mystery Tour The Fool On The Hill Lady Madonna Hey Jude Revolution Back In The USSR Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da While My Guitar Gently Weeps Blackbird I Will Julia Birthday Sexy Sadie Helter Skelter Cry Baby Cry Get Back Don't Let Me Down The Ballad Of John And Yoko Old Brown Shoe Across the Universe Let It Be Two Of Us The Long And Winding Road For You Blue Come Together Something Here Comes The Sun Golden Slumbers Carry That Weight The End All in glorious stereo! The only reason that Sgt Pepper Reprise is included is because I can't access a clean starting A Day In The Life, as the boys at Abbey Road can.
Brian Ono Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Whot no Rocky Racoon,Honey Pie,Goodnight, but The Long and Winding Road?
Guest Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 The comps have to include the singles, Mr Ono (any relation to Yoko?). So The Long and Winding Road is in. Beyond that, for a proposed mass market compilation it needs to include their best known songs. With a few Michael choices through in as well!

IIRC that was part of the CD licensing agreement which stipulated the CD content had to follow the original albums to the last bit, hence no extras to fill up the digital void.
