SugdenA21 Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 http://sbooth.org/AyreWave/ Has anyone tried this yet? My MBP has died (won't start up), so it will be some time before I can try this out. Using a (strangely more reliable) cheap Toshiba laptop meanwhile... Can anyone recommend a cheaper Apple repairer than Magnum Mac in Christchurch? Could need a new HD or motherboard or both? Cheers, Greg
got tinnitus Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Hi Greg Try fellow muso Mark Duff of OhNo! http://www.ohno.co.nz/ You can also find him on TM is the "services" section. Mark's great; highly recommended. Will have a look at AyreWave. Thanks for the heads up on this one. I'm yet to settle on a playback codec.... Rock on James
SugdenA21 Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 Cheers for that fast response James - I'll get hold of Mark. It's a beautiful day here in Christchurch huh - just got back from my bro's 40th in Thailand & HK (which he kindly covered most of the trip since he was smart enough not to choose music as a career) and had a hard shock to the system re-experiencing local weather...roll on summer! I pick up my Nottingham TT in a couple of weeks, which I'm really excited about. How's the DAC sounding? Cheers, Greg
got tinnitus Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Sounds like a nice trip. Handy the bro coughed up. Yeah, great day here alright. Just got back from Taylor's. The water temp is a good month ahead of this time last year; I'm predicting a hot summer. The Nottingham's look like good value. Keen to hear a report once it's settled in! The DAC? Great. I want for nothing else. Except maybe a Powerline or two on the CD and DAC....! But the PL's will have to wait. I "just got pimped" with NAC A5. Deltrons at amp end, bare wire "F" connection at the speaker. Wonderful cable for the money. Really pacey. JL
