Electra Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 Geez, a 7000RMS capable sub? Get real. I know what happen when you stick 6Kw of 50Hz into a pair of big twin 15" PA speakers with buggered cones. They go bang, in about 3 seconds... My clamp meter only just had time to measure the current and the fuse required replacement afterwards too. 230 volts into old stuffed speakers = fun
Guest Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 definantly Imagine that sub in the first box... HoLee !!!
gooki Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 this sub puts out 7000w of true RMS power. I always find it amusing when people say drivers put out power.
nixon76 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Nah, get the 15000W 15" version and whack a PH20000D on it.
Harvey66 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 No - this is how to port a sub. Attached files
Electra Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 Just think of the current drain on the battery if that amplifier ( the PH20000D ) was actually able to deliver 6KW of sustained RMS power. At 100% efficiency, which no amplifier is capable of, that still drawing 500 amps. Even through 0 gauge cable, there will be voltage sag, let alone what the battery ( or bank of batteries no doubt ) would be doing... And Harvey, as for that contraption, where on earth did you find that???
Harvey66 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Actually a really cool website with lots of good info but he obviously rates function over form. http://www.subwoofer-builder.com/index.htm
