Cooksferry Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 My problem with these lists is straight after you've posted you remember all the other favourite tks missed out. Where's my Townes Van Zandt, John Martyn, Richard Thompson, Rodney Crowell, Rolling Stones,Rosanne Cash etc. It would be an interesting exercise if you were only allowed 10 songs to listen to for the next year to see what choices would come up. Ten albums I could just about manage, but 10 tracks would cause agonies and indecision.

Exactly-how did I forget the Buckleys- especially Everybody Here Wants You by JB, and of course Little Brother,Little Angel by Lucinda Williams. To have a serious crack at a list like this would really take days of serious auditioning and scanning of racks and tracks to refresh my rapidly failing memory, not a scatter shot salvo late in the evening.

Feel free to post another list or more than 10 songs there are no rules here I was just trying to get a feel for what members favourite songs were and see if there were any common ones and it's a great way to discover new music I already have a few from Brian's list I want to check out and a couple from your list. I have already thought of a heap more I would have liked to have added to my list and I may post another.
Daddy Dom Posted October 8, 2010 Posted October 8, 2010 I tried not to think too hard and reasoned, what would make me stop what I am doing if it came on the radio? If my desert island had only this 10, I'd be happy for a year. 1. Waterloo Sunset - The Kinks 2. Long Black Limousine - Elvis Presley 3. Little Red Rooster - Rolling Stones 4. Angel - Massive Attack 5. Samba Pa Ti - Santana 6. I Am Weary, Let Me Rest - The Cox Family 7. Pressure Drop - Toots and the Maytals 8. Je T'Aime (Moi Non Plus) - Serge Gainsbourg 9. Cattle and Cane - The Go Betweens 10. Till We Kissed -Ray Columbus and the Invaders (Of course, not in any particular order ) Cheers, DD
