SpongyP Posted October 3, 2010 Posted October 3, 2010 This has caught my interest http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=321915254 Have looked at the specs for 890 vs 2310 and having trouble spotting the difference although know there must be one... apart from a different product number for Harvey Norman as retailer. I see the AVR-2311 is new model with hdmi 1.4. Opinions on this TM unit would be appreciated please.
Draken Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 I do believe i looked into this once and was told that the unusual named denon range of AVR's like the 890 are models specifically made for retails such as HN for some reason. Personally i would stick with the proper stuff i.e get the AVR-2310 over this they "seem" cheap to me
Ayou21553552688 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 No RS232 on the 890 & you got a seperate 2nd zone remote with the 2310 too. Aside from that & a slightly different fascia they are the same & perform the same, sound the same.
crispynz1 Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 "even no dust" - then what's that stuff in picture #9?
Shane Hanify Posted October 4, 2010 Posted October 4, 2010 Gidday crispy, one would hope that's dust. Some of the close shots look like scratches to me. Left of the D pad for example. You have to wonder why it's being quit already, only a few months old. Is it still being paid for? Bloody nice remote though. Cheers, Shane.
SpongyP Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 Looking through his previous trades I get the impression this fella tires quickly of a toy, sees something new and the cycle continues. Of course an AVR isn't a toy to us is it; it's gear to be loved and nourished
