Stuzzo1553552685 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Apple have upgraded the popular Remote music controller App. Now support for Retina display on iPhone 4 and full screen support for iPad. Very impressive on the iPad, a lot of redesign with a very iTunes look about it.
Guest Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I've just downloaded Remote 2.0 and installed it on my iPhone. Initial thoughts: It seems to connect more quickly to my Mac Mini that runs my iTunes library (or maybe it connects in the background, so the application appears active while the connection is under way) It seems to cache album covers, something that I've wanted since I began using Remote It seems quicker all around I've yet to install Remote 2 on my v1 iPodTouch, which is my main remote controller for iTunes. It wll be interesting to see if it is quicker on that older device as well. Glad to hear it works well on the iPad as well.
aarond1553552714 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Will this AP work with Foobar, or is it exclusively for Itunes? I've got a remote AP for Foobar, can't recall which one it is - it is pretty poor all round.
Luckiestmanalive Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Incidentally, has anyone tried PS Audio's one? http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ps-audios-tagnplay/id384182119?mt=8

Ernie1553552694 Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I would imagine you need a PS Audio PW DAC to run their software. Circa $8k with Network Bridge.

No - also works with other network players like Sonos, Linn and the like... anything with uPnP.. ahem... have to back off now as I am feeling a little out of my depth...
Guest Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 My comment about possibly connecting in the background are incorrect. Once I'd left the program alone for an hour it did need to reconnect.
