got tinnitus Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 (SPOILER ALERT TO THOSE GOING TONIGHT) Metallica. They were....metal. 2+ hour show. They played all their good ones. The band was pretty tight but being the pros they are they played within themselves with more in reserve. Good to see lasers making a comeback. Apart some pyro/flame canons, and balloons (Slava snow show style), it was a fitting production considering it was a side show to the main tour. I was centre of the room on the floor about 15-20m back from the stage. The sound was good as we got a lot of stage spill; the side-fill for the band was almost as much as the FOH! It was kinda loud but I had plugs in so no worries! Support bands; cliched. The crowd was a bit muted (and very well behaved). I think the quake has really wore us out down here so the roof wasn't raised. But the sonic assault was more than enough to bring smiles all round. Rock On!
MarkH Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Lucky bastard. I saw them in 88 and missed out on tickets this time.
