lol found this:

Product Description

The world's most popular and best sounding entry-level high-end cables by a mile! Nordost measures their cables as a function of the speed of light. These cables kink easily even with the most meticulous care, even the smallest kink affects their specifications drastically. It is never wise to buy used Nordost cables. Buy them new here at significant savings.

Some may like it kinky.

But I suspect that Ernie probably looks after his gear reasonably well.D

P.S. Did anyone notice the shipping time in the link Draken posted? 2-3 weeks????

$240 for a Blue Heaven is a bona-fide bargain, esp if in't in new condition. It's not really cricket comparing the $USD price from an online discounter.

Still, I had to laugh at Draken's brazen attempt at humour - however misguided. Add Cloth_Ears rapier-like sarcasm and for a few nanoseconds I was in fits...

I've always been a shit-stirrer :P

Just because Nordost measures the propagation of the signal relative to the speed of light, doesn't mean the cables are in the teeniest way constructed like optical cables. Which is where I think the author made his/her misguided inference about the so-called "fragile" nature of Blue Heaven cables.

Flatline cables ARE built like the proverbial and it's pretty hard to kink or even bend them. And if they do get folded over, they crease back like new. Nasa use Nordost for mission critical applications. I use them in applications where speaker cable gets laid under carpet in traffic locations. You can bury the cables outside. The polyethylene casing is chemically inert and does not deteriorate.

It's teflon isn't it Ernie? That's why they're so damn difficult to strip and re-terminate special tool required).

I've got Nordost all over the place at home: in-walls, speaker cables and interconnects. Damn fine product (esp Blue Heaven & Superflatline for the price).
