crazydiamond1553552727 Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 I'm looking at putting together a homemade isolation platform for my Rega P2 by following the basic design as shown on the TNT-Audio website. Can anyone point me the direction of where to get a smallish quantity of sand for the fill? My local hardware supply only has 25 and 40 kg bags which I suspect might be a tad too much.
crazydiamond1553552727 Posted August 21, 2010 Author Posted August 21, 2010 More like coastline compared to a proper beach (ex Jafa) . The guidelines I'm following don't recommend beach sand. Not sure why - dampness maybe??? They do specify river sand though - just as damp I would have thought. Not too many rivers around here unless the Avon counts but I haven't come across much sand along this particular river.

And also sand from Cemix, much cleaner dryer than what you will pick up from typical hardware store... but again 25kg bags. Shame you left Jaffa town or i could have given you some of the above... no point posting by mail tho!
enzedone Posted August 21, 2010 Posted August 21, 2010 Go down to your local/good pet shop and see if they have any sterile sand. That's what I used to fill my weights for my CD player. They come in nice sized bags.
