Citroen Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I decided to try the USB input of my headphone amp for the first time but couldn''t get it to work running Foobar. It does however work with MediaMonkey. I've tried another USB headamp and the same happens. OK with Media Monkey but no sound with Foobar. I use FLAC files. Anyone have any ideas as to what obvious thing I'm missing? and frustrated!

As I remember there is a 'console' in Foobar which will print error messages - try looking in there if you haven't already. I remember that setting the correct number of bits etc. in the output options was required to make it go correctly...
Citroen Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Would you be able to point me in the exact direction to these settings? (just changing the font size in Foobar took me forever!).
Shane Hanify Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Gidday Cliff, If you're using one of the latest versions of Foo, then it's ; File > Preferences > Playback > Output. Choose the correct device from the dropdown list in the right hand pane at the top. Cheers, Shane.
Citroen Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 Thanks Shane So simple, so obvious, yet so far away from my simple mind... Cheers PS And a noticeable improvement over MediaMonkey too!
Shane Hanify Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 No problem Cliff, took me a while to find some things first time round. And yes, it does sound better than most other offerings. Cheers, Shane.
