Dobly1553552753 Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 Senator - You are probably right - I'll do that. Thanks. Might just wait a few months.......
Ernie1553552694 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 You should probably check in with your local chain store. They'd probably give you a better indication of what might happen to model runouts. But I'm with Senator on the waiting business. It might give you more time to save though.
Nigel Beale Posted August 14, 2010 Posted August 14, 2010 The Pro models are more one off and Panasonic hold some stock for those, they tend to follow RRP pricing being lower volume so don't expect any difference over time. The VX range currently can only be purchased from specific Hi-End AV retail or from Masterpiece(me). The pro panels which are more business products can be purchased from any retailor of Panasonic AV product, Including the specialised business AV. For the Viera range, which are the general consumer models, these will change street pricing depending on the retailor and stock vs time. Panasonic do hold some small numbers of all models, although generally a retailor will buy in numbers they think they will sell what ever that is. The patten of sales for these retailors tends to follow a RRP based price at first to the cost price when they get to the run out the final stock. Exchange rates effect retailor here, however the lag could be 3~6 months from orders to shop deliverys. Waiting is fine, the trick is timing, but I think the wait is generally within a yearly cycle where the waiting resets with new models and you wait again, then the issue is we don't live forever. Finally don't forget GST is going up by 2.5%, this will be passed on to the end user.
Dobly1553552753 Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 I think that I might up my budget, as I have just measured the space again and will be able to fit a 50" panel without too much of a squeeze............
