kiwizig Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 What's the best opening track ever? You may have some you wish to add to their list. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=127246022
Guest Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 The opening track to the first Beatles album. McCartney counted in "one, two, three, FAH" and I Saw Her Standing There started. Popular music would never be the same.
maxgate Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 'London Calling' from the album of the same name (December 1979). After my son was born it celebrated his arrival (yes, I'm a dark bastard). The house must have been shaking weatherboards loose because the local farmer walked over the fields to see what was up.
Brian Ono Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 David Bowies ' Its no Game part 1" with its Clicks ,Japanese Vocal ,and shouted translation .

Daddy Dom Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 The Stone Roses" I wanna be adored" as a slow-burning, great opener to an amazing album, plus (somewhat predictably for me) "What's Going On" for the same reasons. DD
chiba Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 British Sea Power's "The Decline of ..." has a great opener.
nixon76 Posted August 1, 2010 Posted August 1, 2010 If this can include 'first released single from an album' then: Dream On, Aerosmith
