Owen Y Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Nat Radio are playing their 1988 album 'Fisherman's Blues' this afternoon. Have enjoyed many a good evening spinning this disc. Nice SQ too, IIRC, lot's of acoustic instruments, Irish voice & trad. tunes. Rocks out in a more pastotral manner Some of you will no doubt be familiar with their huge 'This Is The Sea' album.
Brian Ono Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 Great album and caught a bit of it on Jim Moiras show.
Owen Y Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 Lot's of good tunes, shows that you can rock out with a mostly acoustic band. eg... 'And a Bang on The Ear' 'Fisherman's Blues' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VKouBHarIo Can't spot any decent live vids on youtube.
kiwizig Posted July 5, 2010 Posted July 5, 2010 I have their Fisherman's Blues great album great band!!
Owen Y Posted July 5, 2010 Author Posted July 5, 2010 Fisherman's Blues, Waterboys live at the Royal Albert... Folk rocking. Wow.
St.Noah Posted July 6, 2010 Posted July 6, 2010 Sure, Fisherman's is a fine record. Bit of a shock when it came out as I recall but - such a change of style from their earlier 3 albums, all of which I also have and all of which are equally enjoyable IMHO. Can anybody recommend any of their later stuff?
