I got a newsletter from Alan Parsons Project website. Here is a link to an unreleased Eric Woolfson tune called "Set Free". It's quite good.

Here is the blurb -

"IN MEMORY OF ERIC WOOLFSON

1945 - 2009

In commemoration of Eric Woolfson's gravestone setting which is taking place today in Glasgow, we wanted to share a special previously unreleased track 'SET FREE'.

For those of you familiar with Eric's POE musical and albums, you will recognise his song 'Immortal' here intertwined with another song called 'Chorus of Hope' which is now included in his DANCING SHADOWS musical. This recording was made in about 2000. It includes an African Gospel group and an 80 strong choir whose sections were recorded in Abbey Road Studios. The rest of the track was recorded at Eric's studio in Kent, all engineered by his dear colleague, Haydn Bendall.

This track was never completed and has been literally lying in a drawer for 10 years as it metamorphosized into the two different songs mentioned above. This was often the way Eric worked and how his music evolved.

We felt, particularly with Eric's vocal included, that it was a very fitting tribute to him on this special day and we wanted to share it with people who love his music as a gift from him to you."
