It looks like an Energy speaker from a few years back with a slab of wood on the side.

Possibly the ugliest SF speaker ever?

They do kind of look like Energy Veritas on steroids.

They somehow make me think of a cross between a pair of Rockport Technologies and a pair of Magico speakers... Not a good look, but they probably sound amazing.

More like a bad mashup of Energy, Wharfedale, Mission etc

Can't belief this got out, SF are usually aesthetically pleasing.

OMG, NO!!!

Someone please tell me that those photos have been doctored with the SF logo!

I'll bet those crates got unloaded out of the back of a white van!

Had to go and look at my little ones for a while after that.

Ha, Aarond--I wouldn't worry-- your Guarneri's are by far the finest speaker

ever produced by SF-indeed one of the most musical ever produced-period.

The later SF's have missed the boat-- this latest doozy looks to be trying to

out Magico Magico!--and they're overpriced earsplitters.

Build quality certainly seems up there. That shape seems to be more common these days - i.e. thin at the front and getting wider as it goes back. The ex-SF guy has a new speaker of similar shape - Ktema. Prefer the wooded version in photo 6 myself.

I think they're an average look and that's not what SF are about. They should be elegant - and they aren't. Pity. But yes, I bet they'll sound good.

Its both pretty and ugly...

ie, "pretty ugly".

...and it's pretty ugly for any speaker. Mind you, I don't think Sonus Faber actually make good looking speakers: design wise Sonus Faber speakers make a bold statement, which will appeal to some but not all.

I think the dismay(?) here is not that it's a ugly speaker -

Excellent link to what I think are some of the ugliest speakers I've ever seen! Fantastic to think that people pay tens or hundreds of grand for these monstrosities. :P
