boomtheroom Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 in my lounge i have 2 surround wall speakers..at the back of the room each side of the sofa which is in the middle of the room which is 395 cm from one side to the other..until about half way towards the front where it opens out to the side to the entrance.. now the front wall where i will b putting in my front speakers and my tv is only 370cm across so in order to get the front speakers equal distance from the seating area and from the rear surround speakers i would have to mount them and the tv an extra 25cm away from the left side for it to be centered in the room but it will look like it has been mounted to the right more when looking at the front wall if u get my drift ??does this sound right?
Ernie1553552694 Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 Draw a picture or take a photo. You know what they say about a thousand words. You'll get better quality posts that way...
boomtheroom Posted June 11, 2010 Author Posted June 11, 2010 so the front wall is shorter than the rear so to make the couch in between the 2 front speakers i install..the left front speaker will have to come away from the wall xtra by the same amount of difference there is between the front and rear walls length ie the xtra 25cm only problem is it will look a bit lop sided this way..or i could just make it even distances on the front wall but then the surround speakers would be at a uneven distance from the listening position if the couch has to move over to be in the center of the front spkrs...what the best move
Ernie1553552694 Posted June 11, 2010 Posted June 11, 2010 I'd centre on the room, not the wall. If the visual balance irks you too much, move the speakers and recalibrate your receiver. The Audessey or equivalent correction system should take care of the discrepencies of placement.
boomtheroom Posted June 16, 2010 Author Posted June 16, 2010 ok anyone know a good cheap builder that can remove a window and put up some gib in its place?
gooki Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 Try Wheelers Renovations. Probably not the cheapest, but good middle ground, and good customer service.
