Mycenius Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Hi All - has anyone had an issue with their ONKYO display blanking out - I think mine's got kaput but not sure if there is a hidden control or a fuse or something I can check myself before I ring Avalon Pacific? I've tried the display, dimmer, pure audio, controls and they have no effect (although the dimmer turns off the light on the volume knob, and the pure audio turns on the separate PA light... I turned the unit on, from standby, last night and the display was blank (i.e. didn't light up)... Appreciate any thoughts/insight...
Brunzy Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 Not that it's a lot of help to you , but my Integra lost the display and had to go back for repair
Mycenius Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 Yeah - my main issue is that I'm not missing something obvious that disables the display that I might have inadvertently activated - but can't find anything on remote or in book... and since the dimmer works the volume knob light (and normally that's in sync with the display) I figure the display has gone kaput...
clevedon Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 I know it's a pain, but have you tried doing a reset. You'll lose all your settings, but as a last resort - it's worth a try.
Mycenius Posted June 10, 2010 Author Posted June 10, 2010 Cheers C - no I haven't - but I have spoken to Peter, the ONKYO repair agent in West Auckland and he believes it's a minor component failure that's preventing the display from activating (i.e. the display itself is probably okay). If its what he thinks it is its about $70-$80 to repair...
