Halo88
Hi All, Thought this was a great image found on Audiogon. The amp is a Cary V12 with twelve EL34 output tubes, a pair of 6922 inputs, and a pair of EL84 drivers. Enjoy & have a great week. Regards. There, I've just turned this into a 'show us your glow' thread.... wow, that looks loverly, nixon! I'll try and grab a pic of the Foreplay III tonight. (has to be after 'she' has gone to bed, for I'm ashamed to admit to anyone that I'm taking a picture of my stereo. At night. With the lights off...) NeilNZ
They look great! Unfortunately most of my valvey goodness is encased in ceramic and metal, so no glow Wouldn't want to be the one paying for the replacement tubes on the Cary though! aarond1553552714
A poor image really, a bit rushed and I almost got busted. I work at the same company as my beloved, I do not want my work colleagues to know I take photos of my amplifier in the dark at night. T110
On a lesser scale, I once owned a Rogers HG88mk3. I slid the innerds out of the case just so I could gaze at the glowing tubes at night. Weirdly enough it was in my bedroom to boot! A cool little amp that drove a pair of 90db Morduant Short's. Sounded great especially after Mr Dick from Ecofan gave it a few tweaks. Got photo's here somewhere as well along with some stunning black & whites of my old 301 but cant be arsed digitizing my life any more than it is now and dont own a scanner:p Anyhoo, Nice gear fella's. The very first to make onto our shores and mildly modded by yours truly -- just a bit of damping around the volume switch, from memory. I'm glad it still goes. Volume pot's a tad temperamental but other than that she goes OK. (No flabby bass, which is prob more due to the source its hooked up to not being able to produce much at that frequency!!). Have ordered a cheap valve hybrid headamp from Shanghai, so will be interesting to compare.
