dsan
My favourite band, The Veils are touring NZ! They don’t seem to get much publicity over here, but have been getting great live reviews overseas. Details are here: http://www.theveils.com/live/ I went to a gig of theirs in London last year (above a dingy pub in Camden where it felt like the floor was going to collapse), and I rate it in my top 3 gigs I've been to (respectfully behind Radiohead and Sigur Ros)! Frontman Finn Andrews is incredibly talented, and Sophia on the bass is absolutely gorgeous. Their music seems to be a bit of an acquired taste, but they are well worth checking out.
Luckiestmanalive
Excellent! Googled but I can't see tickets on sale for the Welly concert?
dsan
Their website says that they'll be updating the ticket links, so maybe keep an eye out. What, only one reply? No other Veils fans out there? Tough crowd This is brilliant(the State Trooper cover is fantastic): http://www.baeblemusic.com/concertvideo/theboweryballroom/theveils.html also: http://3voor12.vpro.nl/tv/#/41047351/41730695/57 (check out the others too, the Liam Finn and Laura Marling vids are great!) And if you're still not convinced, then maybe this will do it: http://www.flickr.com/photos/pattifarfan/566697164/in/set-72157600395113740/
Guest Guest
I'm certainly interested in the Veils, dsan, though I don't yet own any of their albums (yet). They get pretty good coverage up here in Auckland. bFM has interviewed them several times and promoted their last couple of albums fairly heavily.
