mikees
Just got my 50" V10. Early days awesome picture. THX mode is great in dark room. DLNA is not in the NZ model and neither are some of the pro settings.
Baz1553552744
Thanks mikeesnz, you have confirmed a couple of things I was wondering about. I looked at one today and couldn't spot an ethernet port, not that this bothers me. I also read the UK review which slated the lack of Pro settings, so it seems we are in the same boat there. The TV was in THX mode so definitely looked a bit dim in the shop compared to other screens, but this is normal I suppose as the defaults are normally high to make them stand out. I saw the price was 4699 at HN, but I was under the impression that the RRP was going to be 4499. Can you lucky people with the V10 give an idea of what you are paying. Only asking as I am looking to get one of these as well. Cheers, Baz.
mikees
$3885 on their Monday special on TV's this week. It was listed at $4699
Baz1553552744
Thanks again mikeesnz. Not a bad price for newly arrived gear. Going to have another look today, but I am starting to wonder if I should wait for the 58". I have an old projector and when I size it to about the 50" mark I'm not sure it is quite big enough. The Aus retail on the 58 isn't as scarey as the 850's were, so with a "very" good deal I may be able to stretch to that in $NZ (equivalent, what ever that really means). oakley_nz
yeah, especially in OZ, where they're running a promotion of giving away a blu ray HT system/Hd recorder/HDhandycam if you buy a V10...wonder if they will do it here..

($3885 was the price i had up for "mad Monday") by the way $4699 is still the current retail, have heard rumours that it will drop to $4500 next week. Baz1553552744
Why do I get the feeling that the RRP has always been 4499 and that 4699 is probably more to do with the 4 years interest free promotion. Or have I become cynical in my old age?

Baz1553552744
MVT, I think the 3885 and the 4128 (4 yrs int free) are very good prices. I just thought the "RRP" was 4499 according to Panasonic, at least before the V10 arrived, that may have changed. By the way, I hope the other HN branches are doing the same good deals. HN at mt wellington had the v10 plasma for a jaw dropping $3699 as part of their Labour day special. Go figure!
Spoonsey
Does anyone know what the V-series 58" will retail for here? That's the one I'll be having a good look at next month.
Baz1553552744
+1 Aus site shows $Aus4599 for the V10 58. The V10 65 is 6699 and the old 850 65 is showing 11999! That is some difference in the initial prices. Hoping the RRP for the V10 58 will be around $NZ 6k (or less) with some really good deals around while the $NZ is strong, and given that we are getting a stripped down version. Crikey, that price for the 65" is impressive. I bet it will be closer to $10k here though - market size and all that crap.

Spoonsey
Those Oz prices did surprise me initially but I note that the RRP for the 58" and 65" in the States is around US$2,400 and US$3,700 respectively. Imagine (yes, imagine) the 65" selling here for the equivalent NZ$5k or so...it ain't gonna happen! I'll put a fiver on NZ RRP for the 58" being around $7,000 and the 65" around $9,500. If I look at things pessimistically perhaps I'll be pleasantly surprised when they're released?
Baz1553552744
The user manual is available on the Aus web site, unlike the NZ web site. For the V10 58 I couldn't see any specific mention of the 96Hz mode for 24p playback, one of the main features for me. Still maybe go back to HN and confirm that this mode is selectable. oakley_nz
Then what are we getting for this stripped down version?? only THX? Thanks mycenius!!
mikees
It would seems so. There are limited advanced settings & I don't know if these are on the G series. It still produces superb pictures. I haven't tried to adjust mine yet but Normal & THX look pretty good out of the box. Iam using Normal for normal TV viewing & THX for Blu Ray/ DVD.
