These types of tool are fantastic for a part of the cross-over design but you still need to model impedance issues caused by a passive crossover. I preferred the Rane RPM 26z to the Behringer when I looked into them. You can download the Behringer and the Rane software and play with them without buying the product, and that may help you decide.

I also have the DEQX, but its extra features are unnecessary compared with the Rane, and I just love how, with the Rane, I can sit in the listening position with a wifi connected laptop and with just a few clicks change anything about the crossover. The DCX 24/96 has an extensive feature set too but it is balanced out by not being the best sounding unit of this type and having a less friendly interface. The sound takes on a slight layer of grain with the Behringer.

The Behringer is, however, nice and cheap - and you can hire one to give it a decent trial before buying. I know a few high end loudspeaker manufacturers who swear by the Behringer. I just love the Rane software interface and so am probably very biased.

Thanks for that Antipodes I looked at Rane a while ago seemed a better product but a little less flexible, I was looking at a different model

Does it model ancillary circuits ie notch filters , impedance compensation ect

does it do 1st order crossovers

The price of the Behringer is appealing especially since it won't be in the circuit after development
