After Naim ND5XS added to my system, i seldom use my cd player anymore, hence i decided to let i go here so that i could have more space for this new arrival.

It is still waiting to be setup, but i took a peek, and so far i am happy with the packaging.

Finally the AMG was setup couple days ago. It looks stunning and the timber skirt is absolutely a match.

I can tell this unit was designed with precision in mind.

First impression listening to it is "wow". It is not only sounds more real compared to my digital source, but also it will bring you as if you are right in the middle of the stage, live...It is really make my digital source embarrassed.

I was also worried with the choice of cartridge in the beginning. It does not look like most of other cartridge, it does not have anything to cover the stylus.

However it turned out the sounds produced from this catridge is not as what it looks. it is certainly beyond my expectation.

To protect the AMG from dust and nasty finger from my young kids, I also pre-order custom plexi glass before it was setup, so i can put them on the day AMG was assembled.

I also must thank Areamihc as another AMG owner for providing an accurate dimension.

Here some photos from the actual units

Thanks Guys,

I just bought Samsung Galaxy S4 for my wife and i thought this is a good way to test the video camera quality, I am surprise how this small device could produce a reasonably good video quality. Few years back i need to use a proper handy cam.

Hi Michael, Wow! What an amazing transformation from the last time I dropped into your thread yes.gif I think the Rowland amps were a great choice to match with your B&W's, and the AMG Viella tt is a sensational choice as your analogue front end. This creation by the late great Werner Roeschlau will certainly become a cornerstone of his legacy and a future classic imho. When this tt was first released I talked it up on this forum & got some fairly negative feedback. Cest la vie as they say. Rock on brother! rock-on.gif

Yeah......you are new to vinyl aren't you. Get your mucky fingers off the playing surface. :-). No excuses about having to hold the camera, you should have taped it to your head like any self respecting audiophile/LP aficionado/ hipster............actually skip that last one. You don't ride a fixy by chance? ( insert more smilies here)

That poor Naim gear is not going to get much use now. Mine still has it's merits (nDAC/XPS2DR) against my modestly priced turntable ( Rega P5) in my second system. It's a very first world problem to choose and mostly comes down to what I want to listen to,not what system (and the digital system is ten times the investment).

Thank You Dave, Rowland amp has done a good job to handle my 802d in every aspects, the typical of bright presentation from the diamond tweeter is no longer there. it suits my ears very well now. When i decided to put vinyl into my systems, there are some factors that affect my decision, and AMG is the top candidate for  look, space requirement, and budget. Indeed it was the right choice for me.

Your system has dramatically changed since the last couple of years. Welcome back here Dave, i know we have long overdue visits that we need to catchup.

Hi Michael, thanks for your welcome back tiphat.gif I heard the Rowland 725/Corus combo in Boris's showroom and was impressed. They sound powerful, rich, fast and quite resolving. There is a definite JRDG house sound which I could see suiting your B&W's. I'm pleased to hear they addressed the 802's tendency to brightness in the top end. I think your PAD cables and AMG deck would help in that regard too. Yes! We'll have to arrange catchups early in the New Year. I have some new iso feet arriving for my Aesthetix in a couple of weeks. The Romulus is not in the same league as your AMG, but it is still natural and musical sounding music.gif

You need to get somebody to show you how to handle records and use a cleaning brush!   ;)

Good video though.  :)

No worries.  I guess premature wear on the stylus and LP's, and deterioration of the sound will just will be part of the learning process.

I'm not a vinyl expert by any means, but I had 2 cleaning brushes, a stylus cleaner and new LP sleeves before I had a phono stage :)

Lovely system though mate, happy I stumbled across it tonight, whole room looks incredible actually. Wish I could have one chair, but my girlfriend likes listening to ALL my music hahaha!

Enjoy, take care of those vinyls!
