Journey to the Centre of the Earth 3D - Blu Ray

Had to order this from the UK as this movie will not be released on Blu Ray in New Zealand - according to JB HI FI and Whitcoulls. Was due to be released in NZ but was cancelled at the last minute. Bought it from Amazon UK for NZ $31 shipped.

 

Reasonable family movie. 3D effects were surprisingly good. Saw this at the cinema and 3D was excellent. Didn't expect to be impressed at home, but I was pleasantly surprised. A lot of jumping out of the screen effects and also a lot of scenes with very good depth. Very little colour though which is typical of 3D films played at home.

 

Audio was just standard Dolby Digital but was very good for a lossy soundtrack. I can't help wondering how good a lossless audio track might have sounded though.

I scored my Blu Ray copy from my local video guy and quite enjoy it as well.

I was told that the distributors pulled it at the last minute, but no reason for this was given. JB Hi Fi thought that it may be released here at the end of the year but no guarantee of that.
