silvercj
I have just replaced my bulb in the 5700 with an old one that has done 1300 hours (i dont want to buy a new one as I am thinking of buyin a HD proj). The prob is that everytime I turn it on it keeps asking me to replace the bulb. Is there a way to reset the hours counter to 1300. The message goes away after 5 mins but its annoying. Cheers:confused:
little blue penguin
I found this reference on another forum; In the owners manual, page 29, you will see an entry for the service menu and the option for a lamp reset. Have you tried this? Hope this helps.
Robocop
Yes you need to reset projector back to O hours. Check manual or Infocus web site. Gosh bulbs not cheap for this projector I was quoted just under $1000 for new. Mine is now running fine at 3120 hours. The bulb won't blow apparantly it starts getting duller less bright. I've been told they can last beyond 4000 hours on the 5700. Mines always run at minimum brightness. I'm very reluctant to replace bulb I'd rather buy new 1080p. What did you pay for bulb? I've thought about buying second hand, I mean its still a good projector, has a good quality glass lens. Some of these new 1080p's have plastic lens which lets them down. The latest JVC is stunning. Ernie1553552694
Well, if you read in the Sunday Star today, a lot of foodstuffs are having their weight or volume cut to hit price points. Plastic lenses on projectors are no different. By and large, a lot of viewers won't know the difference unless they have already had the real glass experience. Ignorance is bliss sometimes.
