David Han Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Hi , niterida, How old is this unit? Is it still under warranty? thanks
Guest niterida Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 6 months old but I bought it in Europe so would have to be shipped back for warranty Thats one of the reasons it is nearly 1/2 price
Guest niterida Posted February 19, 2019 Posted February 19, 2019 Need this gone by next Wednesday so price drop to $1750
roachy Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 What is the general reliability on Marantz AV gear? I was very nearly about to pull the pin on buying this the other day. Now I am aware it is an import I have my resevations. Obviously this has been priced with this risk in mind. Niterida, if you don't mind me asking what European country was this purchased in? Is it 220/240v model and do you have a sales receipt that if anything did go wrong it could be covered by warranty in Europe?
Guest niterida Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 (edited) Most electronics either fail straight away or not until after the warranty ends : https://www.weibull.com/hotwire/issue21/hottopics21.htm Top of the range Marantz gear is top quality. I bought it from an actual physical store in The Netherlands - one of Europes top upmarket hi-fi stores. I still have the paperwork and if the worse was to happen and you had to send it back and it cost a couple of hundred you will still be $1000 better off It is 240v and I have had no issues with it. It is a superb sounding machine and probably the cheapest way to do 10.1 Auro 3D - and Auro (upmixed) is w-a-y better than anything else for music IMHO Edited February 20, 2019 by niterida
lamtran Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Hi Niterida, Do you have the original boxes, manuals and accessories? Can you do a video of the unit working. Last time I bought something from the forum, the unit was dead on arrival and was a complete saga getting the HDMI board replaced from overseas. Hey Roachy, remember the saga with my Pre amp?
Guest niterida Posted February 24, 2019 Posted February 24, 2019 Looks like it is sold pending payment.
