alistairm Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 I am running a Classe 2200i and have been for months with no problems. All of a sudden it is throwing the F0446 4K unsupported error. Plugging straight into the TV works fine, so it is the amp that it doesn't like. Some change on Foxtel's end presumably. Any ideas?
alistairm Posted February 15, 2019 Author Posted February 15, 2019 Bah... gave up. Just using the TV as a switch now with optical out to the Classe. Not the ideal setup. I must say that moving forward I think I'll look for a decent power amp and just get a pre/pro head unit that I can swap out as the times change!
betty boop Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 hdcp error ? try a basic hdmi splitter from jay car/officeworks use inline it strips hdcp inadvertently and gets rid of problem with fetch boxes, possibly might help with the foxtel box too if problem is the same ? can always return to ether shop if does nothing for you
agelessgoodguy Posted February 15, 2019 Posted February 15, 2019 Its actually a picture setting in your Foxtel box I suggest, just go the Settings-Advanced settings - picture, then look at the resolution box, after Foxtel do software updates (currently happening) it reverts back to AUTO there, just change that to 2160 and Bingo your away again, I've posted that fix for many on the Community Board for Foxtel too as a genuine fix. But naturally enough in this age its not 100% waterproof till you try it, lets know how you go mate. 1

Now you have to suffer the forced foxtel 4k upscaling on every Foxtel channel, whether it be sd or hd. My Sony 4k tv upscaling on Foxtel sd or hd is so much better than the Foxtel upscaling in picture quality. The auto setting should be just that, hdmi output based on the input. Sd, hd or uhd depending on input. Regardless the Foxtel 4k UHD support still says unsupported in the picture settings which is incorrect. Foxtel have changed something which is now incorrect and does not work. the auto setting worked fine until earlier this month. Edited February 24, 2019 by metal beat

Yes ; nothing wrong with the classe ; hdmi 4 handles the latest silly drm hdcp protocol Quote four HDMI (v.2.0) inputs and one HDMI output, supporting up to 2160p (4K) video at up to 60Hz, plus audio (including Audio Return Channel, or ARC). HDCP 2.2 is included on HDMI input 4.
