FS: Beyma high efficiency concentric speakers.

Recommended Posts

Item: VoXGrandious; DIY 15" Beyma Concentric drivers in a 170ltr ported box with external Xover.
Location: Langwarrin. Pickup only if boxes included.
Price: reduced from $2500 with boxes to NOW $2000.

Price without boxes: $1800 includes Xovers.
Item Condition: Excellent. Finished is stippled paint, tough and washable and sound dead. Drivers never driven loud.
Reason for selling: I have changed to Altec horns and woofer arrangement. No room for the two. Reluctant sale.
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, Paypal, COD Only
Extra Info: The boxes were designed around the drivers to position the central 2" Titanium and Mylar tweeter at ear height. The enclosures only need to be about 40ltrs and these drivers will still deliver bass down to 40hz. The woofer section (8ohms) is 99db efficient and the tweeter (16ohms) is 105db efficient. Two large ports in the rear ensure good bass extension.
Power handling is over 500W. Magnet assembly is dual Neodymium (the tweeter has its own magnet assembly) making the drivers lighter than normal.

The Xovers are first order with PIO capacitor and hand wound choke on high frequency ferrite rod. All sold core cat 5 wiring for internal box and Xovers. Xover point is 1100hZ. The Xovers are bi-wired right trough and separate binding posts for tweeter and woofer. Woofer does not start to roll off until after 2khZ - tested. Boxes are well braced and lined with bitumanised heavy Al foil. Also padded with Dacron. Grills are held by rare earth magnets. Easy on and off. These speakers will play loud on 5W tube amps and even good volume on my DIY 1/3W UX-171A power amp. I have also driven them 150W Class D amps.

The treble is extremely smooth and extends to over 20K. Voices sound natural and acoustic instruments well detailed.
