Amar Dhall Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Not sure if I mentioned this earlier, but: Abakus, 'That Much Closer to the Sun', Liquid Sound Design. An oldie but a goodie. Cool remix of some classic Hendrix in one track. Musical downtempo, dubby, electronica.
Vortexjah Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Just got my ADM sub for my ADM 9Ts, all i can say is WOW! Listening to: Neil Landstrumm - 'Bambaattaa Eats His Breakfast' (Planet Mu), very electronica sounding dubstep, probably one of my favourite artists of the genre.

Electronica really needs a full range system (or as close as possible) to shine. Enjoy rediscovering your library.

Thanks, amazes me at the difference it makes. Listening to : Rudi Zygadlo - 'Great Western Laymen' (Planet Mu).

HumanMedia Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 (edited) "Three Spires" - Perfect Blind Great downtempo, but not chilled and legitimately free from Ektoplasm http://www.ektoplazm.com/section/free-music Edited March 2, 2011 by HumanMedia

Sentient Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 If you're into the Cafe del Mar series, you might be familiar with Afterlife. Very cool, bass heavy, electonic chill...... am listening to Electrosensitive at the moment.
Sentient Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Heard some tracks off this one over at Aslans the other day. Am spinning it now. While my system delivers full range, my bass just isnt as clean as the bass delivered by the R3's. [sighs] This is a great electronic cd ! Younger Brother - The Last Days of Gravity
goopie Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Some great recommendations so far in this thread. In that vein try this one. It's free and a great listen. Ambientium - Fractal Philosophy http://www.ambientium.com/products/fractal-philosophy/ And Muslimgauze (Bryn Jones) is worth a listen as well. Arabic influenced Electronica with a political edge. And a lively, raw sound.
houdinifangs Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 Oval - Oh Ltd 1000 edition white vinyl More musical than the full length album 'O' which came out after this - glitch meets free jazz. Among the most beautiful looking albums I own - the image insert on the cover is a real photo!
zog Posted March 7, 2011 Posted March 7, 2011 "On Land" - Brian Eno. been listening to older ambient stuff, not new to most, but new to me. This is really impressive. And I suspect a great stereo test as very densely mixed textures. How many records have liner note advice like this: http://music.hyperreal.org/artists/brian_eno/onland-txt.html

Younger Brother - The Last Days of Gravity I personally prefer their first album, A Flock of Bleeps (also on Twisted Records). It is Benji and Posford without the vocals of Ru. Darker, edgier and equally deft. Their third album, Vaccine, is about to be released and is available for preorder directly from Twisted Records. Interesting trivia, the cover art for LDoG and the upcoming Vaccine is done by Storm Thorgerson, the artist reponsible for the cover of Dark Side of the Moon. Edited March 8, 2011 by Vitruvian

Amar Dhall Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 (edited) Entheogenic, Entheogenic, re-released on Universal Symbiosis Records http://universalsymbiosisrecords.net/usr_shop/product_info.php?products_id=29 Beautiful psy-chill, originally released in 2002 and then again in 2008. A gem. Entheogenic, Spontaneous Illumination, re-released on Universal Symbiosis Records. http://universalsymbiosisrecords.net/usr_shop/product_info.php?products_id=30&osCsid=75edfe61fdd89fa54a952bf131137b18 Released in 2004. Slightly more down tempo than the album above, but very musical and equally nuanced production. Don't bother with 'Flight of the Urubus', although more recent, it appears that the producers felt that they could get away with simpler production. **Also, Ott has delayed the release of 'Mir' until Tuesday 15 March. It is a must get, IMHO. http://www.ottsonic.net/ Edited March 11, 2011 by Vitruvian
ford Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 more info, please. If you like Schultz and Lisa then you get the best of both worlds. They come together very well in fact Lisa blends in very well,no mean feat with a voice like hers. There are several recordings of concerts they did together.Farscape is the best.
Amar Dhall Posted March 13, 2011 Posted March 13, 2011 (edited) Rena Jones, Indira's Web, Cartesian Binary Recordings Rena Jones plays a chello and layers this with glitchy electronica and smooth ambient bass lines. Occupies a unique genre, much like Jon Hopkins. A very delicate album with the chello adding an element of introversion. Sometimes melancholy, always atmospheric. This is her fourth album and has been released on her own label. Nicely produced. Rena Jones, Driftwood, Native State Records Stylistically similar to the album above, however this, her third album, was released on Native State Records, one of the better American electronic labels. It is a nice change to hear the work of a female producer that is truely world class and easy on the eyes as well.... Edited March 13, 2011 by Vitruvian

houdinifangs Posted March 14, 2011 Author Posted March 14, 2011 Oren Ambarchi - In the Pendulum's Embrace Soothing, otherworldly and sublime. Manipulated tonal guitar drone. Check the bass on side 3.
Vortexjah Posted March 14, 2011 Posted March 14, 2011 Broken Note - 'Terminal Static' (Ad Noiseam), an album i never fully embraced until recently. Hard/Dark Industrialised Dubstep.
Amar Dhall Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 The Ott album is out and available for download: Ott/ 'Mir'/ Artist's own release. http://ottsonic.bandcamp.com/ Psy Dub with lashings of Dub step. This is reimagining of the Ott sound, but still with the undeniable Ott sheen of quality. I particularly like tracks 5,6 and 7. Also, Phutureprimitive/ 'Kinetic'/ Artist own release http://phutureprimitive.bandcamp.com/album/kinetik Dark dub step, not exactly my cup of tea, but one for the library. It is well produced, but a little lacking in depth IMHO. That said, track 2 is my favourite among several standout tracks.
