Item: B&W 801's
Location: Mornington, Victoria.
Price: $2650
Item Condition: Excellent.
Reason for selling: For a friend.
Payment Method: Pickup - Cash, EFT.

Almost perfect condition from about 1980. A few very small marks, one is missing the badge and neither have the bolts that hold on the mid/tweeter box on top. This doesn't make too much difference at all with anything however I believe these can be found and purchased online. As can see in photo, there is a very small indent in the top of the woofer box on both which was the packaging pushing down the foam. This can be cosmetically fixed very easily however I'll leave this to the purchaser to choose what they may want to do.

Besides these, they are in incredible condition regardless of age.

Very rare to find these in Australia; and in this condition anywhere in the world.

Still with original boxes and packaging, one of the most iconic and collectable speakers there is.

Pickup Mornington, Vic or can post (as they still have the boxes ;)

I am sure these are great speakers, but almost perfect condition? You are not doing your friend any  favors when the photos show poor to average conditions and you say one is missing the badge and neither have the bolts that hold on the mid/tweeter box on top .

A little misleading I think.

I have to agree with the other posts here. Just having the original boxes etc doesnt make these a great buy..not that you said that in fairness. If the cabinets are in poor condition it doesnt bode well for the condition of the drivers in a potential buyers mind.

I wish you well with a sale all the same but you may have to be quite flexible with the sum expected.

Yeah I collect some B&W pieces.

My DM70s cost similar to this and for example there wa a 15mm dent in the timber that I didn't know about and was a little disappointed. That's the other extreme though.

Looks like you've tried to take photos of the damage, so aren't trying to hide it, which is always good.

Unless you find someone who is happy with accepting the damage to the cabinets, covers, missing screws these will be a little bit of a fixer upper. Many vintage pieces are and still get interest, but if I paid that and expected them to be in excellent condition I would be utterly disappointed

They are actually in very very good condition (perfect perhaps not).  I used a hi res camera so that all imperfections will be highlighted very well so that people can see exactly what is there without hiding anything as a lot of people do.  The marks are far less visible in person thats for sure.
