audiohippo Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Does anyone have any experience with the: Screen Technics - ElectriCinema Side Tension Screen https://screentechnics.com.au/products/projection-screens/motorised-screens/electricinema-side-tension-screen Screen Technics - ElectriCinema Premium Motorised Screen - https://screentechnics.com.au/products/projection-screens/motorised-screens/electricinema-premium-motorised-screen I am looking at a few changes to the room and a more 'hidden' screen effect. Thanks

I woudl stay away quite frankly but very happy with my premium electricinema have had quite a few years ... a few projectors have come and gone but the screen has been one constant and likely to continue on for many years yet I suspect

It's not perfect, but very good.
Johnny_Boy Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I have the 110 tab tensioned screen, its been fantastic. I wouldn't by a non-tensioned screen again if going for drop down. They are more expensive that standard, but worth it for the flat screen it produces. Had some bad experiences with screens curling slightly in the past that really bugged me. Al, not sure why you would stay away from tab-tensioned? 1

Owen Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 What "complexity" ?????????? Screens need to be perfectly flat and smooth. The best material for smoothness is stretch vinyl which requires tensioning, either vertically via a heavy bar at the bottom of the screen, or depending on size, horizontally tensioning as well. Nothing complicated or expensive about it. Stretch vinyl is the norm for fixed screens, the fiber reinforced heavy woven screen material typically used in non tensioned retractable screens is quite frankly inferior because its NOT smooth. 1
