It looks as if it has been opened before but doesn't look like it has been used. I have not used it either because I had gone in a different direction for a media player. These can go for crazy money on Ebay and elsewhere ( Up to $800) . I'm not sure why but it does produce superb pictures and it will play any file format including ISO and BDMV folders with full menu support.
