Andy0217 Posted January 29, 2019 Posted January 29, 2019 Hi Folks, I was was planning on making a 2.40 AT screen using SMX material I ordered from Rubin well over 10 years ago, but looking at perforations I am convinced this material is unsuitable for 4K, which by the way is still in its box after all these years, and I am getting fat and lazy in my old age... So was thinking of contacting Seymour Screens and asking for a sample and a quote, and was wondering if anyone has one of their screens and if so any regrets? Maybe someone in Melbourne has one that I could perhaps see? I like their mounting method of using grommets to mount the screen to the frame...should be an easy installation even for someone like me, Otherwise I am open to anything local...screen size with a viewing area of 3840mm x 1520, non masking and non curved, PJ will be one of the JVC or Sony 4K units, Cheers, Andrew
DTJ Posted February 16, 2019 Posted February 16, 2019 I would have though Richard at OTS would possibly sell his AT material only? He could fill you in on the detail, but I believe it is the exact same material that one of the bigger international screen manufacturers were using. I have one of his AT screens, soon to be installed into a new HT build. But not yet opened. Cheers.
Andy0217 Posted February 17, 2019 Author Posted February 17, 2019 Thanks DTJ, I emailed Richard during the week for a sample and will most likely have him build me an AT screen, Cheers Andrew
