eagle Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 (edited) Recently, I had a Rel S2 subwoofer in my system and used it for 2 channel and HT. For 2 channel, I was very impressed with how easy it was to integrate with my 2 channel floorstanders (they have 2 x 10 inch). For HT, there was not enough power/slam for my room (6m x 5m). The first thought was to buy 2 Rel subs with the bigger drivers/amps but they are expensive and am not wanting to over commit at this stage. Second hand an option if your quick enough to nab them:) I have been looking at other options from SVS, JL Audio, M&K and also a Legend Kurlo. The latter seems the best value but no idea how it would sound. The other point of consideration is the connection to my system. I run a 2 channel pre/power that feed my floorstanders and only use this for music. I then use a receiver for a 5.0 (soon to be .2;) to power a small pair of left and rights, center and surrounds. Rel has the ability to connect hi level from the 2 channel amplifier and LFE from the receiver. Not sure how I would do this with the Legend Kurlo or others. I’d appreciate any advice or suggestions you have for the best subs for my dual application. As my 2 channel floorstanders are sealed, my preference is to stay with a sealed subwoofer. vwo60 Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 I have two custom made 15" subs fro Adelaide speakers, they are fantastic. Give Edward a call as he makes excellent gear at a good price. http://www.adelaidespeakers.com/subwoofers.html 2

graphicgoose Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 If you've been happy with your REL then I can vouch for going with a bigger REL. The cost may be up there, but you won't be disappointed. I have a REL 212 SE and last night picked up a pair of Focal Electra 1028 Be's and although the Electras sound fantastic on their own the REL really takes the whole system and soundstage up several notches. Once you dial the REL's in correctly for the room and speakers they really tie the whole system together and balance everything out. I'd highly suggest a single REL 212 SE would make you pretty happy, although admittedly your wallet less so...
