Jebediah Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 I just got around to looking at Brian from Decibel Hifi in Brisbane's newsletter. He is stocking these new (to our market) Jico stylus' for introductory prices. Could be worth a look for those in the market for a decent mid range MM? http://www.decibelhifi.com.au/jico-sas-moving-magnet-cartridge 2
aussievintage Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Could be a nice cartridge. However, I was reading "The body is made for JICO by an artisan manufacturer" . Really not sure what that means except maybe, given that it looks the same as quite a few other brands are using, it's something a company somewhere is making in bulk and selling for OEMs to integrate into their product. Looking at the specs compared to, say, they AT-VM95ML. The AT has better channel separation, but the Jico has a boron cantilever, other than that, not a lot of difference. The AT is $200 cheaper though ($100 while the Jico is on special).
Jebediah Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 I guess the proof would be in the listening then
