Guest Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Right, I need to take a case on board as hand luggage on Sunday, and it’s something I’d rather not let go into the luggage compartment (m Scaler and dac) Qantas Hand luggage dimensions are http://www.qantas.com/au/en/travel-info/baggage/carry-on-baggage.html My case is 51x 41x 20 and will weight between 7-8kg the width dimensions of the case are off by 5cm longer. Does anyone here think they will let it fly with me or am I stuffed?
manchu Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Seems like you should be OK size wize. "Total dimensions are measured by adding together the length, height and depth of the bag." "1 x 115cm bag" so, 51+41+20 = 112cm. Doubt they'd worry about a little over the 7kg per piece limit.
Guest Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Lol, I bought a slightly smaller case, just going to have to make the stiff fit, not taking the risk.
Guest Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 Never mind, case closed. Right size and weight.
Bill125812 Posted January 21, 2019 Posted January 21, 2019 I travel quite a lot for work. I’ve taken larger on as cabin luggage. I dont think you will have an issue at all 1

I can just see the person at the X-ray machine asking the supervisor... do you know "what kind of Bamb" this is ?
Ugly Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 I know you've already got the flight but Qantas have been getting tough recently on hand luggage. They weighted everyone's hand luggage the other day on a flight I was on. If you were over 7 Kgs (which most were), they were giving warnings. Over 8 and they were sending people off to check their bags in.

They’ve taken all the fun out of flying...
Guest Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 It weighed 7.01kg, and security did ask……………………
