It's an excellent amp, nicer sound than the succeeding Diva range. I bought mine for the same price, but it would need to be in good condition for the money. Check the pot meter for problems and listen for any grounding issues - the two most likely issues for the Alpha series. Plastic speaker terminals are also vulnerable to breakage.

They would be a good pairing. Those alphas are a very neutral studio style sound and the arcam would bring them out nicely.. i did the same with alpha 20s and arcam 8p. Also older cambridge amps are wonderful with these

I’m currently having a Denon AVR 1709 7.1 but it’s 99.9% used for music. Do you reckon the ARCAM 8 will be a better fit.

Most certainly. .. but first a story.
I sold my alpha 20s to a doctor with an old AVR seceral years ago. Before he took it i convinced him to listen to it through an older 2ch amp (cambridge audio A1). the difference was stark to say the least... the alphas need a full bodied warm amp.
Arcam has a similar but nicer sound. .. plus you will have an alpha speaker driven by an alpha amp .. what could go wrong? [emoji41]

Thanks for your time ?. Not sure if I have confused you regarding my speakers.. They are Infinity Alpha 50 speakers not Arcam speakers.

Unfortunately I am unable physically see and to listen to this amp as I live in Tasmania. Just wandering if I should get it shipped not even looking or wait till April (Easter holidays) as I will be in melbourne for 10 days and search for one when I am there. How would you do ? ?. Sad to miss this item
