Hello,,,

I've just been given a set of old Yamaha sound system components:

  • Yamaha Natural Sound AM Stereo / FM Stereo Tuner T-420A
  • Yamaha Natural Sound Stereo Cassette Deck KX-500
  • Yamaha Natural Sound Compact Disc Player CDC-585 (5 Disc)
  • Yamaha Natural Sound Digital Sound Field Processor DSP-E200
  • Yamaha Natural Sound Stereo Control Amplifier C-50
  • Yamaha Natural Sound Stereo Power Amplifier M-45 (125 W)
  • Playmaster 300W Subwoofer Amplifier

I can see some of these components replacing one of my home sound system setups and the home system becoming the basis for a sound system at my dive shop.

The AM/FM tuner will get used, but I suspect the tutuapp.uno/ luckypatcher.tips/  www.kodi.bio/ CD player and cassette deck will be rarely used. I'll mostly be using a RPi+DAC to play my Roon managed music files. I suspect I'll end up offloading the Yamaha DSP-E500 and Playmaster subwoofer amp.

Are there any known issues with any of the above components that I need to be aware of?

What speakers do you think would work well with the Yamaha C-50 pre-amp and M-45 power amp combination?

Best regards, Lloyd Borrett.

What ever way you go, the C-50 Pre/M-45 Power should be kept, a pair of "vintage" 12" inch 3 way speakers would be my suggestion, that should rock your (dive) boat
