headphone
Hello gentlemen! I have an Electrocompaniet ECI 5 MK II. After about 2 hours, the upper lid can reach temperatures of 45 - 50oC. Normal or not? I found two small fans inside for the purpose of cooling. My question is: Will the fan start running immediately after turning on or the fan only runs after the amplifier reaches certain temperatures inside? How can I check the fan status? Why is there a strange noise on the speakers when the fan does not run? Thank you very much for your cooperation!
Audiofix
I have fixed a few ECs over the years but not a 5 for a long time. I guess they are reliable! There is a EC guru who works for Tivoli Audio in Melb (or there wholesale division) who will be able to answer your question. Definitely shouldn't make a noise in the speakers at any stage (other than music of course) nor should any amp.
