Guest Posted December 10, 2018 Posted December 10, 2018 There will be an Australian launch in February, with stock shipping in March (from the horse's mouth).
Serentity Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Earlier the better, looking forward to see what the new model can do. 1

Serentity Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 I also believe they have a new 3LCD chip in the new 9400 model?>
betty boop Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 some differences in contrast and lumen between the two models https://www.epson.com.au/products/projector/EH-TW9300_Specs.asp https://www.epson.de/en/products/projectors/home-cinema/eh-tw9400#specifications appears to be still using the D9 panels going back to the 9000 series I had ? no doubt new 18 gbps chip set
oztheatre Posted December 11, 2018 Posted December 11, 2018 Just a warmed over version of the 9300, still, pretty good PJ for the money!

Looking forward to see what the street price will be on the 9400, as if its only a minor upgrade over the 9300 (Still a major upgrade over my 9000) it might be worth looking at second hand JVCs in the new year. 1
Michael391 Posted December 12, 2018 Posted December 12, 2018 here's a few images/screenshots of the 9400 in action..... https://www.avforums.com/threads/epson-tw9400-7400.2186048/page-5#post-26648021

I think it's still best value for money PJ under 4500-5000$ and can be had for much less than that too. 1
mercury10 Posted December 14, 2018 Posted December 14, 2018 Oh,i dont know about that. JVC 7900 for around the 5k mark is much better bang for the buck. I think my old x35 is probably better for standard bluray watching then the epson

Michael391 Posted January 19, 2019 Posted January 19, 2019 here's a video of the 9400 for those interested......excuse the german.
HDobsession Posted February 20, 2019 Author Posted February 20, 2019 Just spoke to AIM Digital and they said they haven't heard from distributer about the 9400 being in stock yet. I have the 9300W and for the 4K 60Hz in the 9400W I would probably upgrade if I could sell the 9300W for $2800. I really like my epson.
Michael391 Posted February 20, 2019 Posted February 20, 2019 I’ve heard from a supplier that it would be around april. But no firm date yet
Serentity Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Their is a Australian review on the New Epson 9400 projector from Sound and Image Magazine, worth reading if you are looking at buying one. (Mag Vol.32#3)

(Mag Vol.32#3) Yes serenity ; I actually like the fact there is I 18gbps hdmi and 1 1.4 input as there has been some incompatibility with older chipsets plugging into hdmi2.0 lately .. Stephen notes a few deinterlacing queries with 50i so pick the right film/video algorithm https://www.avhub.com.au/product-reviews/sound-image/epson-eh-tw9400w-projector-review-523898 1

Cant wait! HDobsession I bel you can buy them now, Check https://www.westcoasthifi.com.au/ or https://clefhifi.com.au/catalog/index.php , most likely other stores will have them soon as well, the two mentioned were the first two that came up in the search.
Pedro Anders Posted July 11, 2019 Posted July 11, 2019 Having had both an X35 and a 9300, the 9300 is way better for standard Blu-ray content. I'm not sure if it is worth upgrading to the 9400 or not? I mostly watch UHD BD content.
