cafe67
Hypothetically speaking of course. But it lets say you have $15k to spend on floorstanding or perhaps standmount should they be suitable. but they have to be 3 ways and they have to play nice in room 4m deep x 5m wide. What would you consider?

At that price point you are in the range of the D&D 8c, can also ditch your current amps.

Not necessarily better, I just wanted to try something different.
mwhouston
Osborn, made locally, are excelent value for money. I think where some make the mistake is to bigger speaker for the room. The speakers can never work in their sweet spot because they are always under-driven. I would suggest the Eclipse for around $6K. I had a pair about 6 years ago for 6 years and always thought them very good. All Osborn speakers are very efficient and an easy drive. Epitome Towers Elite would be a good option too. Great thing about Greg's speakers is they don't suffer from "sweet spot" problems regardless of room size, I suspect it's because they don't require toe-in. My room is the same size and Greg recommended the Monument! (He played these in smaller rooms than 4x5 and sounded just as great as in a big room)
maximus
@cafe67 For that money you could also consider maybe a used pair of Magico S3's, Avalon Indra's, Focal Sopras, PMC 25.26 or left afield Devore Orangatang's which would probably be better suited for your amp. As you know there are stacks of speakers at this price, it's just finding the time to see what sounds best with your setup. cheers Frank.
