On screen what would that actually look like? And the difference of 100 lumens, I don't think anyone would be able to notice that? problem is OZ you calibrate the sonys and they collapse in output(this is well documented). the jvcs still stay up there, so there is a considerable difference output wise when comes down to it. if looking uncalibrated and happy sure. output is pretty important with screens especially larger and with HDR. lower calibrated output and you are just left with less up the sleeve for HDR re 18GBps its needed for 4k 50/60 and quite rightly sony have added this to support quite a bit in that format with both stuff of atv 4k and gaming. there is also a uhd in the format its stunning. its motion flow so not something you'd capture with still camera

It is much needed ! still its a 2 horse race so doesnt help us at the paying end much.... especially while one is held up in the stables with some sort of problem and for an unknown quarantine period
oztheatre
The epson isn't a native 4k projector and it's lcd too. Yeah I don't see why the sonys would drop that much in output as out of the box they're quite spectacular.. strange really.

Hi oz just making point they’re par for course now oz. it would be like saying hey my new car has a reversing camera. Sorry mate but just about everything has reverse cameras these days nothing to crow about. Not to suggest for one minute the 570es won’t be a good thing or not better for it for what they have improved and added to re out of box even my Epson I had years ago was great. So an expectation at money spending should be case. Not that projectors plug play but they should be oz. but even with the Epson start cranking and would doin go out of whack calibration wise in higher output settings with Sony am sure great out box but likely worth calibrating as well
wooferocau
Regarding the 570ES... User in the US i correspond with had a"Golden Sample" X9900...he sold it just recently. He intended to purchase the NX9, but wasn't prepared to wait. He went and viewed the SONY 570ES and was "Stunned" .... He prefers it to his previous X9900 by a large margin. He has now purchased the Sony 570ES ... His feedback has been overwhelmingly positive regarding the 570ES ..

Still I am honestly very glad it exists and at price it is. Jvc has taken up some point of arrogance in recent times. The 570es first model finally equipped well to go towards countering that at relevant price point. The xx900 series not so revered as previous gen, especially eshift 5, so good to hear the person very happy with what has now

Thank you Sony have the 590es these days but it’s a $9k-$10k prospect there’s also 290es that’s a bit cheaper alternatively check out jvc n5 n7 they are better projectors for money new n5 is about $10k as well… if money doesn’t stretch then looking 2nd hand
