Gordon Macfarlane
Over the last year or so Steve and I have replaced our cheapo bedroom Lcd's with good quality secondhand plasmas for a nice upgrade in picture quality at ridiculously low prices. I have a Pioneer 509xda Kuro in my bedroom and Steve has a good 50" Panasonic. Our living room tv was a small 42 inch plasma which really was fine for just watching the news and a couple of game shows we watch in the evening. Anywho the upgrade bug bit and I started trawling through Gumtree and Facebook market place for a larger tv for the lounge. I came across a 65inch Panasonic professional plasma monitor at the right price and this was delivered last week. The tv weighs in at 72kg and though it came with a wall bracket there was no stand. Another run through FM and I got a nice Sony rack designed for one of there heavy rear projection units. A bit of metal and wood work and I converted the wall bracket to be part of a table top mount . This is ,by our standards , a huge tv with an excellent picture and will be great for watching all the concert dvd's I have. It is amazing what you can afford on a low budget if you keep your eyes peeled . Connected to a Linn-Unidisk SC my main music system now does stereo and multichn sound.
