Apart from the obvious suicides I suppose. I only ask as I’ve often thought it would be a great gig but the response from most seems negative. Never heard from an actual driver. Guest JohnA
i have been doing it for 30 years mate and love it. In that time i have had one suicide, and i took 3 months off with full pay. Some will go their whole career without any others will have many. Everyone deals with them differently, but our workmates are your best help. They were taking me out most nights to just take my mind off it and have a good time. Conditions are great Pay is also very good I mean look how relaxed i look here Edited October 25, 2018 by JohnA

ThirdDrawerDown
those jobs where everything is 99.9% routine but you have to remain vigilant for exceptions because only a human can deal with them, get hammered by management because they think it can be 100% mechanised Carpet loom operators, power station control room operators, train drivers, airline pilots, the list is large. It also takes a particular turn of mind to handle the routine while maintaining readiness and ability to make the right decisions under pressure. Some folk find it hard to do preparedness without the adrenaline that vigilance normally brings. I admire those people.

Nicely put, I have always struggled to explain why I am hard to replace with automation. Especially where I operate and while the task is routine so to speak no day is ever the same.
