I’ve been listening to a lot of Psych lately, new bands and classics.

A new band I’ve come across from Sweden, Vart Solsystem / Our Sokarststem. Big digs fir this spacey cruise.

Hey Geoff, nice thread start man.  I love all things Psychedelic and will be posting here, and checking out for new Albums and Artists.

It just so happens I had a listen to this yesterday...

Titan 'A Raining Sun of Light & Love, For You & You & You...' 2007 TeePee Records, USA.

AllMusic Review by James Christopher Monger  [-]

Brooklyn-based, semi-instrumental quartet Titan have been unleashing their unholy blend of neo-psychedelic rock and progressive stoner metal on homemade EPs (CD-R basement freakouts) for some time now, so the arrival of a full-length studio album is a cause for celebration. Like Boris, Comets on Fire, and Blue Cheer, Titan don't concern themselves with genre boundaries. Heavily improvised cacophony can often become the audio equivalent of a traffic jam, but in the right hands it can transcend the endless line of cars and take the listener home by unforeseen paths. A Raining Sun of Light and Love achieves this through the twisted hands and minds of its creators (these guys can actually play), and once you get past the Comus-inspired acoustic intro that's oddly reminiscent of Ween's "Squelch the Weasel," the 45 minutes that follow traverse the annals of rock history like a roller coaster car with a grenade in it. Fat ELP organ runs explode into heavy Sabbath riffing while Rush-inspired time signatures signal the arrival of "Careful with That Axe Eugene"-era Pink Floyd. Feedback washes over Tuvan throat singing, roadside noise morphs into crickets, and bluesy slide guitar and wall upon wall of distortion fall on each of the four tracks like a monsoon, signaling the arrival of one of the most promising metal acts of 2007.

P.S.Edit;  Man I love your deck.

Very nice, I can't seem to go wrong with anything on TeePee Records.

Cheers mate, Ant.

Hey guys.  I bought my first download from Bandcamp today.  When I opened the site the front page had a nice article on South American Heavy Psyche releases, if ya wanna check it out.

It mentioned one band I have on CD, Los Natas.  I will have another good listen before I post it.

Cheers, Ant.

I haven’t come across Titan or Teepee records, will check them out.

I’ve been buying lots of stuff on band camp over the last year or two. Buying direct from the band is great, sometimes the records come with something extra or a note. I also like the way your downloads go into a library, much easier than fiddling with download codes.

A few record labels I’ve been digging are Cardinal Fuzz, Guru Guru Brain, and Beyond is Beyond is Beyond.

And for tonight's entertainment, now playing, I present to you...

The Cosmic Dead has to be juuust about my favourite Bandcamp discovery so far.  Love 'em.  Highly unlikely they'll ever tour out here though.

The title track off this one is epic.

Spinning some Cosmic Dead right now, heavy this one. Clean but sludgy, makes no sense, but it’s great. Psych is Dead, released last year.

Yeah, that's a pretty friggin' awesome album too.  And makes perfect sense to me!  ?  It's funny how a little Scottish band can be so good.  :D

+1  Fine idea for a thread and +1 for TeePee Records. Love me some Lecherous Gaze and I've got the new one on vinyl and 20 minutes later I still can't find it.....

Riot Season is a rad label. The newest title "Primitive F###" by Black Helium sounds very promising.

Another band on their roster worth checking is Blown Out. The album "Superior Venus" is really good too.

Can't forget to mention Orchestra of Constant Distress, way too heavy and minimal to call psych, but crikey they're good.

I listen to music on the recliner, but I also like to jump around in my own tribal dancing, and this one's got enough for both...

Los Natas 'El Hombre De Montana' 2006 Small Stone Records, Detroit, USA.

AllMusic Review by Eduardo Rivadavia  [-]

After two albums, 1998's Delmar and 1999's Ciudad de Brahman, made up of competent, but seriously Kyuss-dependent stoner and space rock, Argentina's Los Natas definitively established their own unique identity with 2002's critically acclaimed Corsario ***** -- an often stark and mostly wordless Patagonian soundtrack built on songs resembling slow-advancing glaciers, their riff-blocks as dense as Andes Mountain strata compacted by untold eons. Then, there followed Toba Trance, which essentially extrapolated those panoramic songwriting tendencies while apparently satiating the band's interests in that creative direction. The next Los Natas album, El Hombre Montana, found them switching gears completely to embrace an astonishingly raw, loose, even ragged, brand of fuzz rock, so far removed from Corsario ***** as to be almost shocking. Yet, for the most part, it's a source of great relief to see that Los Natas stellar compositional and musical skills still manage to carry them through the day: whether pounding their way through a predominance of high-energy numbers ("El Bolsero," "La Espada in la Piedra," "El Soldado," etc.), detouring into bare-bones acoustic offerings ("El Camino de Dios," "Sigue, Sigue..."), or trudging closer to their slow burning, doomier natural element on rare occasions ("Humo ***** del Vaticano" "De las Cenizas, El Hombre..."). If all of the above reveal any notable weakness, it has to be Sergio Ch.'s somewhat limited range of vocal expression; a weakness he'd rarely had a chance to even test on those largely instrumental recent efforts, but which here is nevertheless remedied by his laudable insistence on writing Spanish lyrics, which lend the entire album an exotic flavor. And that, along with their innate talents, maverick mindset, and fearlessness about tackling a fresh approach to songwriting, ultimately guarantee another compelling outing for Los Natas, whose fans undoubtedly realize how precious these qualities have become in the 2000s decidedly impoverished stoner rock scene.

I love The Myrrors. They’re from Tucson, Arizona, and you can just feel the desert. This one is ‘Burning Circles in the Sky’, from a few years ago. I’ve really enjoyed all their records, one gem after another. Always a new direction, but always sounds like The Myrrors. Can’t gush enough for this band.

Hey Guys.

One from the hard drive this morning...

The Intrigue of Perception 2004 Elektrohasch Records.

Review by apps79 (Rate Your Music)

Hypnos 69 signed with the German record label ElektroHasch and in 2004 comes the third album of the group ''The intrigue of perception'', recorded in April/May 2004 at Artsound Studio in Houthalen. On this third work Hypnos 69 had fully transformed to a Heavy/Psych/Prog Rock group, splitting their sound between modern Prog ala Porcupinee Tree and vintage inspirations, including King Crimson, Marsupilami and Van der Graaf Generator.Their sound still included lots of abstract, jamming parts with a strong psychedelic flavor, but their horizons had fully opened with the addition of Steven Marx, who strengthened their sound with his competitive keyboard work and his frenetic sax introductions.Low tempo jamming solos, jazzy vibes and hypnotic grooves are basic ingredients of their music, which is now also led by huge Mellotron waves, smooth electric pianos and haunting sax lines similar to David Jackson's work or even Didier Malherbe's of Gong fame. This way Hypnos 69's musicianship obtains an obscure, slightly dark and fairly adventurous contrast with plenty of instrumental madness contained. These elements appear mostly in the longer tracks, which alternate between narcotic moves and heavier tones, the shorter ones are straighter, mostly with powerful guitar parts.File along other Retro-influenced Psych/Prog groups like Astra, Diagonal and Cranium Pie.And definitely interesting music for most of the way.

Cosmic Fall 'In Search of Outer Space' 2018 Cosmic Fall.

Reviewed by Terry ‘The Ancient’ Cuyler (TasteNation)

Filled with swinging bass grooves, and jazzy drumming done by bassist Klaus Friedrich and drummer Danial Sax. Jabberwocky wows the listener as the new Cosmic Fall guitarist Marcin Morawski  begins lay down the space fuzz while Klaus surprises the listeners with some mellow vocals.

Though I ain’t into Narcotics the album’s 2nd track Narcotic Vortex feels like a good replacement for them. The guitar and bass have a real dirty feel that becomes real mellow before Dan begins his drum solo creating a bridge for Klaus and Martin to bring the music to its peak. Track 3 and 4 Purification and Lumberjam seem to be aptly named and are quite possibly my favorites from this album. Dan’s soft taping on the cymbals while Klaus gently noodles his bass and Martin does some soothing pick work that feels like a refreshing rain storm that cleans the city streets. Next is Lumberjam. Dan and Klaus set a rhythm as Martin saws out the leads like a buzz saw. Feeling like a musical version of the Voyager Satellite traveling through deep space, Dan and Klaus set a nice smooth rollin tempo while Martin picks and uses what I believe are effects peddles and the volume knobs to create the spaced out feeling to this song. Closing “In Search Of Outer Space” is Cosmic Fall’s retelling of the Greek tale of Icarus. Klaus really doesn’t have to sing a word. You can feel the tale with its lofty soaring guitar that finally comes crashing down.

My brother has the double cassette release of volumes 1 & 2 of this and it gets a few spins. I managed to get both volumes on vinyl from Amazon AU for a crazy good price when they had the 2 for one deal going.

If anyone want's the d'load it's still valid as I post this.

Feel free to have a crack at the download, Geoff, but it may already be used by now. I've got the Vol.2 vinyl also... I can shoot you the download card for that if you are interested? Agree, Moon Duo are great!
