Decky Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 Interesting idea - but.... Box is too small so transformers are too close to the main board. Volume control is not necessary and not well implemented either. Apart from that and considering the price it could be a good start for a keen modder but then again, why would you buy that if you can get Twisted Pear audio kit and do everything properly...
markm1111 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 I think Wayne at Bolder raves about his modded version of this dac - but then again FWIW he raves about all of his mods.
tricka Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 Yes...it didn't appeal to me. But I thought someone may like the look of it. Who knows - it may sound ok Decky.
New Sensations Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Yes...it didn't appeal to me. But I thought someone may like the look of it. Who knows - it may sound ok Decky. I almost bought one a couple of weeks ago. I still might..... :-p
kdoot Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Are those output impedance specs for real? Or is it suggesting a minimum value for suitable amplifier input impedance?
