betty boop Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 looking forward to it. enjoyed it last time around
Saxon Hall Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Went to the first one in 2011 and will be going to this one. The Headzone concept should be popular with Head Fi crowd
cinema mad Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 I thought 2011 expo was very good, really looking forward to this one , wonder if JVC will show any new projectors .. Intend on taking my time to see everything this time round...
Drizt Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 It's good for a look see but the sound quality is always a let down in those rooms.
Quark Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Didn't get there last time - definitely going this year.
cinema mad Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Drizt Do you know if SGR Audio will be at the show this time round? Those huge ILLuminators where awesome last time round. Stuart really is A gifted/talented Guy.. http://www.sgraudio.com.au/products/illuminator/illuminator.html
cinema mad Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Didn't get there last time - definitely going this year. Trust me Quark you will be missing out Big Time if you don't make it this time round Bro, If going off the last Melbourne AV show in 2011 was any thing to go by..

Guest Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 LOL! Gotta laugh .... the wife didn't blink at the suggestion of a weekend staying in or near the Rialto!

Stuart really is A gifted/talented Guy.. http://www.sgraudio....lluminator.htmlThe Illuminators are very good, way too big in size and $$$ for me, but are selling well... Both Stuart and Harry are worth talking to but suggest seeing them outside of the show because there are far too many people wanting their attention there.
Paul Spencer Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 I went to the first show, all 3 days. This year I'm exhibiting - LSK The Loudspeaker Kit - room 342. It's good for a look see but the sound quality is always a let down in those rooms. Very few paid attention to room acoustics. It's definitely on the agenda for the LSK room. A "no excuses" setup is the goal, as I sell acoustic products as well as consulting services.
bjc Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 That's what sucks about living up north... No Shows, No Drag strip, No Expo's (worth going to!), No Waves.... You'd think I'd want to leave, lol

Was on holiday up north last time, so didn't slum it, but realise I missed out perving on a truck load of audio/AV goodies.
Guest Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 Quite happy to run a car pool up on either day from Narre if anyone is interested........
Saxon Hall Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 The exhibitors list shows SGR so that is good news , as last time they had a really interesting room.
SDL Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 It's good for a look see but the sound quality is always a let down in those rooms. Share those sentiments, it is great to see all the gear, but you can't really appreciate the top quality sound equipment and speakers, though it gives a taste and if interested you can always set up a listen somewhere I suspect.
betty boop Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 yep thats all its for to get a taste and appreciate. bit like a car show where its more look see. Sometimes get to see and hear some stuff never even heard off before, or finally see something in the flesh. that said quite a few did put an effort to present their gear. I also like that get to in some instances meet up with distributors / importers you normally have no contact with. am particuarly looking forward to see if any makers bringing some interesting projectors to demo as well. the year I went jvc had the x90 which was a standout. Barco had something pretty special ! and epson locally launched their 9000 flagship. so was pretty memorable on that front
buddhamus Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 We should all try and meet up sometime during the day and have a nice lunch and a few drinks and have catch up..... I'll be going for sure....as I think Macca will as well lol
betty boop Posted August 10, 2013 Posted August 10, 2013 yep sounds like a good idea bud, we should try do
buddhamus Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Should see what day most of us are going and then plan on doing it around that?
Guest Posted August 11, 2013 Posted August 11, 2013 Going by the provisional list of exhibitors, There are a great many names missing. Probably due to the high costs involved, and the slow return in sales. Still it's early days
